🎭 Audition Requirements

Interested in auditioning? We’d love to see you on stage! Please read the following audition requirements carefully to prepare:

Audition Requirements

Cold Readings

Selections will be provided for specific characters for callbacks or during initial auditions

Dance & Movement

A short dance combination will be taught at the audition

Wear comfortable clothes and appropriate dance footwear

Vocal Audition

Prepare one of the songs provided for character or ensemble for State Fair (if seeking a lead or feature or Ensemble be sure to prepare the lead or featured song)

An accompanist or music track will be provided 

No a cappella auditions

Video Audition Requirements

If you’re unable to attend in-person auditions, you may submit a video audition following the instructions below.
All video submissions must be received no later than Sunday, June 30 at 9:00 PM to be considered for casting.

📝 Additional Required Materials:

  • Completed Audition Form (available at [insert link or email to request])

  • Marked Conflicts on Calendar by placing your name on the date you’re not available (for dates between July 7, 2025 and October 5, 2025 [Calendar])

  • Headshot or Recent Clear Photo

  • Theatre Resume or Experience List (optional, but helpful)

Slate (Introduction)

Start your video with a brief introduction:

  • Your full name

  • The role(s) you’re interested in or if you’re open to ensemble

  • Your vocal range (if known)

  • Confirmation that you’re available for rehearsals and all show dates

Monologue or Scene Reading

  • Perform a 1-minute monologue OR read from one of the provided sides (see attached or linked materials).

  • Choose a character aligned with your role interests.

  • You may read with an off-camera partner if doing a side.

Dance Clip or Movement Reel

  • For ensemble or dance roles, include a 30–60 second dance segment.

  • Use a combination from a past production or something original.

  • Make sure your full body is visible and the video is well-lit.

Vocal Audition

  • Perform one of the songs provided for character or ensemble for State Fair

  • Choose a piece that showcases your vocal strengths and storytelling.

  • Sing a cappella or with a backing track (instrumental only preferred).

How to Submit:

  • Upload your video to YouTube (unlisted), Google Drive, or Dropbox.

  • Email your video link and all required materials to:
